Indonesia merupakan negara dengan endemisitas tinggi hepatitis B, terbesar kedua di Negara South East Asian Region (SEAR) setelah Myanmar. Berdasarkan data Riset Kesehatan Dasar, studi dan uji saring darah donor PMI maka diperkirakan di antara 100 orang Indonesia, 10 diantaranya telah terinfeksi Hepatitis B atau C. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakteristik ibu hamil dengan HbSAg positif di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kramatwatu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan data sekunder yaitu rekam medik. Sampel yang diambil satu tahun terakhir dari Januari – Desember 2018 sebanyak 20 ibu hamil. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ibu hamil sebagian besar usia 20 – 35 tahun yaitu 16 orang (80%), usia kehamilan sebagian besar < 37 minggu yaitu 16 orang (80%), paritas ibu hamil sebagian besar multipara yaitu 15 orang (75%), pendidikan ibu sebagian besar SMA yaitu 14 orang (70%), pekerjaan ibu hamil mayoritas tidak bekerja sebanyak 20 orang (100%).

Diarrhea is still the second leading cause of death in toddlers besides pneumonia. The highest number of cases of diarrhea in toddlers in East Java is Surabaya. This study aimed to describe the distribution of toddler diarrhea based on risk factors using a regional mapping approach in Surabaya. This study was an ecological study with a regional mapping approach. The independent variables used as risk factors for toddler diarrhea were healthy latrines, drinking water facilities, open defecation free (ODF), and complete basic immunizations. The unit of analysis used was the districts that were processed from the Surabaya Health Profile data in 2019. Results showed most cases of diarrhea under five occurred in Wonokromo, Sawahan, Tambak Sari, and Kenjeran District. There was a significant relationship between toddler diarrhea with complete basic immunization (p = 0.008), while the relationship with healthy latrines, ODF, and drinking water sanitation was not significant. This study concluded that 8 of 31 districts were prioritized for handling toddler diarrhea in Surabaya. In addition, there is a need for dissemination to the community through optimizing the role of health workers at the Puskesmas regarding complete basic relationships and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has hindered one of the government’s health sector programs, the School Child Immunization Month (BIAS). The complete immunization program must still follow the schedule to protect children from immunization-preventable diseases. This study sought strategies, processes, and obstacles in implementing the BIAS program during the COVID-19 pandemic at Batujajar Health Center from December 2020 to January 2021. The study design was a qualitative method by conducting in-depth interviews. The informants were selected through a purposive sampling technique to obtain the information required for the study. The results showed that immunization was only administered in safe zones, and socialization was distributed from the Community Health Centre to schools by WhatsApp (WA) application. The school used WA to deliver the socialization to parents, then recorded the students to immunize, and chose places fulfilling health protocols. The BIAS process during the COVID-19 pandemic was the selection of place, time, and the number of people involved for BIAS with the health protocol, monitoring by the immunization program coordinator through field officers reporting, and evaluations during monthly workshops. Some problems occurring in the BIAS program were there were external obstacles like school’s difficulty applying health protocols during the administration, and some parents’ resistance to children’s immunization, misinformation that it was a vaccine for COVID-19 or the vaccine was expired, children were sick of afraid of the syringe. Better socialization and coordination on the implementation of this program was needed
