Abstract. The use of information technology (IT) in enterprises must be governed and managed appropriately using IT processes. The notion of IT process maturity is useful to measure the actual performance and to define the desired performance of IT processes. Improvements are necessary when there are gaps between the actual and desired performance. Most literatures focus on IT process maturity assessment. They do not address how to improve IT process maturity. This paper proposes an approach to enterprise IT process maturity improvement for COBIT processes. The approach consists of three activities, i.e. IT process maturity assessment, recommendation, and validation. Assessment is to recognise the process' control objectives maturity. From the assessment results, recommendation identifies control objectives that must be improved and then suggests improvement actions. The prescriptive nature of the control objectives facilitates in suggesting those actions. Recommendations for managements are defined by abstracting similar actions. Validation checks whether the recommendations match with the enterprise needs and capability. It includes a scale for validation, in which enterprise's capability is categorized into (i) not capable, (ii) capable with great efforts, and (iii) fully capable. The paper illustrates the approach with a case study.

IPOS information system is a service delivery system (package) and letter (mail) PT Pos Indonesia. The application of the IPOS information system still found problems, the problem of human resources, bar codes that were not in accordance with the delivery receipt. So it is necessary to do an assessment of the IPOS information system, the purpose of this study is to determine the level of maturity of the system information, formulate recommendations for improvements if needed and validation recommendations. The framework used assessment is COBIT 4.1 framework, focus DS10 process (Managing Problems) and DS11 (Managing Data). The results of the assessment will be obtained maturity level, then the formulation of recommendations for increasing maturity is carried out, then validation of the recommendations proposed. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews, study of business documents, literature studies, and questionnaires. Data is processed based on COBIT framework rules 4.1. The results of the DS10 and DS11 process assessments are at Level 3 (Defined), management has been managed well but its implementation is still not maximal. Recommended improvements to DS10 and DS11 as 3 recomendation. The results of the recommendation validation are in the score 4 to 6, is capable with great effort

This is a systematic literature review to understand the adopted practices, proposed solutions and measurement models for Information Technology Service Management [ITSM] approaches. This paper extends the existing research and past literature reviews in this area by including recent published research from 2010 to 2018. The review finds that ITSM practices are not uniformly adopted, and some processes tend to be adopted more widely than others. The review also finds many measurement models that are either not validated, or only partially validated, and sees a gap between academic research and practitioner community, who are the primary intended users of these models and frameworks. There are proposed solutions for ITSM integration with other management systems that can benefit from further research for validation. We recommend future researchers to collaborate with practitioners, so that proposed models and frameworks can be incorporated into the relevant standards, where feasible.
