| Terapia neuromotora intensiva nas habilidades motoras de criança com Síndrome de DownRESUMO| Introdução: A Síndrome de Down (SD), ou trissomia do cromossomo 21, é a mais frequente patologia de ordem genética associada à deficiência intelectual. Objetivo: Verificar os efeitos da Terapia Neuromotora Intensiva (TNMI) nas habilidades motoras grossas em uma criança com Síndrome de Down. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo de caso retrospectivo que avaliou uma criança de 9 anos pela Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM)-88, que recebeu sessões diárias de 3h de intervenção pela TNMI, durante 5 semanas tendo a dimensão E) Andar, Correr e pular, como área meta, com o objetivo principal melhorar o equilíbrio estático e dinâmico e, consequentemente, a marcha. Resultados: Na avaliação estratificada pelas dimensões avaliadas no GMFM-88, a paciente obteve melhora total de 5pontos percentuais (pp), sendo que foi 11pp na dimensão E) Andar, correr e pular. Conclusão: Evidenciou-se uma melhora nas habilidades motoras grossas por meio da TNMI na criança com SD, em itens relacionados ao equilíbrio e marcha, presentes na dimensão E da GMFM.
