Solanum Lyratum InhibitsAnaphylactic Reaction and Suppresses the Expression of L- Histidine Decarboxylase mRNA

Abstract: We investigated the effect of aqueous extract of Soloanum lyratum THUNB. (Solanaceae) (SLAE) on anaphylactic reaction. The mast cell is widely thought to contribute to the acute changes associated with anaphylaxis. SLAE inhibited skin mast cells-mediated anaphylactic reaction activated by anti-dinitrophenyl (DNP) IgE. SLAE dose-dependently inhibited histamine release in mouse peritoneal mast cells activated by anti-DNP IgE or substance P. Substance P increased steady state levels of L-histidine decarboxylase (… Show more

“…However, the scientific evidences of Solanum lyratum herba still remain unclear except its apoptotic (Wei et al, 2006) and antianaphylatic (Kim and Lee, 1998) activities. Thus, in the present study, to elucidate antitumor mechanism and in vivo efficacy of Solanum lyratum herba, in vitro cellular and molecular work and in vivo experiment using LLC tumor model were performed with hexane fraction of Solanum lyratum herba.…”
