“…Part of this environment was derived from the application of the evaluative procedures of the CAPES, which play an important role in contemporary educational policy through the creation of critical tools for the maintenance of academic capitalism, among them the Qualis system, rankings, the h index, the Lattes Platform, and performance measures such as number of publications/citations, number of opinions on articles/dissertations/theses/projects, funding for research, and number of scholarship holders being mentored.
