Graphene Oxide Based Magnetic Nanocomposites with Polymers as Effective Bisphenol–A Nanoadsorbents

Abstract: Magnetic graphene oxide was impregnated with polymers for the preparation of nanocomposite adsorbents to be examined for the adsorptive removal of a typical endocrine disruptor, bisphenol–A (BPA) from aqueous solutions. The polymers used were polystyrene, chitosan and polyaniline. The nanocomposites prepared were characterized for their structure, morphology and surface chemistry. The nanocomposites presented an increase adsorptive activity for BPA at ambient conditions, compared to pure magnetic oxide, attrib… Show more

“…The software of the computer that was used was Class-M10A by Shimadzu (Kyoto, Japan). The synthesis of powdered magnetic graphene oxide (mGO), powdered magnetic graphene oxide with polystyrene (mGO-PS), powdered magnetic activated carbon (BAX), powdered magnetic graphene oxide with polyaniline (mGO-PANI) and powdered graphene oxide with magnetic chitosan (GO-Chm) was performed according to references [16][17][18][19][20]. These five nanocomposites were studied as a possible type of adsorbent for the extraction of ALP and FLT from surface water samples.…”

“…Em um estudo recente, Rekos et al (2019) sintetizaram três nanocompósitos magnéticos para remoção de BPA. Diferentes parâmetros foram avaliados para determinar a eficiência do processo, tais como, pH da solução (3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9), força iônica (NaCl 0,1-1 mol L -1 ) e tempo de contato (0-180 minutos).…”

“…Moreover, GO can form magnetic nanocomposites with Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles through electrostatic interactions between the negatively charged GO nanosheets and the positively charged surface of magnetite. The magnetic nanocomposites combine the high adsorption efficiency of GO and the convenience of magnetic separation of Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles [37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44].…”
