Extraction and Characterization of Humic Acid Based on Coal Mining Waste

Abstract: Humic acid obtained from coal mining waste from the Lenger deposit was studied. Potassium humates were extracted from the raw material using potassium hydroxide. Hydrochloric acid at various concentrations was used for acid sedimentation of humic acids. Experimental data were obtained describing the effect of the HCl concentration and the sedimentation time on the organogenic composition of humic acid and on its acidic characteristics. Organogenic elements, carboxyl groups, and acid values were determined. Fou… Show more

“…The mechanical energy crushed the condensed HA, the macromolecules were broken up and decomposed, and the originally stacked aromatic layer was destroyed by the tangential force [37]. (2) The infrared spectral results of HA [38,39] are shown in Figure 7. The vibration peak at 3434 cm −1 is a large number of free and hydrogen bonded OH groups; the peak intensity is high, indicating that the HA is rich in hydroxyl groups; and the intensity of the peaks of the two HAs is basically the same: 3000-2700 cm −1 belongs to the fat region, the peaks at 2922 cm −1 and 2850 cm −1 are CH2 asymmetric and symmetric telescopic vibration, respectively, and the peaks of the two HAs are not shifted and the intensity is basically the same; 1950-1800 cm −1 is the carbonyl C=O vibration, presumably a carboxylic acid or ketone, and the intensity of the peaks of the activated HA is stronger than that of the activated one.…”

“…These particles are captured by the special part in the filters then discharged into the storage area (Figure 1). As a result of thermal treatment of phosphate ore, about 150-160 kg of cottrel dust is formed per 1 ton of yellow phosphorus at the phosphorus plant [5][6][7]. Accumulated industrial waste heavily pollutes the environment and has a direct impact on all living things.…”
