“…All C-M participants should be equal, power imbalances should be addressed and solutions to problems should be address collaboratively. Around two thirds of included studies were researcher led and five did not explicitly state leadership (Boerema et al, 2016;Clarke et al, 2009;Holliday et al, 2015;Morrison & Dearden, 2013;Wang-Letzkus et al, 2012). Exceptions included studies that claimed to be 'stakeholder-led' (Bond et al, 2015) or guided and advised by a committee or project team (Bone et al, 2013;James, et al, 2015;Nguyen et al, 2019;Ralston et al, 2017).…”

“…App development and testing was led by Coventry University through the ‘Innovation in supporting people at risk of falling’ study (www.coventry.ac.uk/research/research-directories/current-projects/2015/fallcheck/) funded by West Midlands NHS Regional Innovation Fund. Previous research (Ward et al, 2012) involving older people, carers and telecare professionals found an appetite for a wider range of resources (including apps) to support people at risk of falling and their families (Holliday et al., 2015). Although the FallCheck app is aimed at the person who is worried about falling (or their informal carer who may be worried about them), it was recognised that health and social care professionals are often the gatekeepers to health information sources, and their role in signposting people and families to information resources is key.…”
