“…THE possibility of sensitization of the individual to G: albicans has been recognized by many authors. The early literature up to 1962 has been well reviewed by Winner and Hurley (1964), who record that sensitization studies in animals were reported by Kurotchin and Lim (1930a, 1930b, 1933. Sclafer and Flavian (1954) found that in 285 children aged 1-16, cutaneous allergy to G. albicans was demonstrated in 23%, and after the first year of life the frequency of this sensitization increased with the age of the subject.…”
