“…1,2 The demographic panorama of Brazil, a developing country, is due to many peculiar economic and socio-cultural factors that impose on the aging population challenges, such as the impacts caused by the complications of chronic diseases and consequent embrittlement, leading the elderly to dependence for activities of daily living, both instrumental and basic, physical-functional and cognitive, requiring support for continuous and sometimes prolonged daily care.
