“…Fruit quality measured based on physical-chemical characteristics, both in tangerines and oranges with the application of mineral films were similar to those of the control fruits in this study. This result corroborates those of Mezófi et al (2018), who did not verify the effect of kaolin on the mass and on the concentration of soluble solids in cherries, in addition to finding a reduction in the infestation of Rhagoletis cerasi (Linnaeus) (Diptera: Tephritidae) in the cherry orchard. In 'Navelinas' oranges, Gullo et al (2020) also observed the absence of kaolin interference in color, SS, and TA parameters.…”

“…Kaolin is the sole mineral that has been extensively researched for its ability against fruit fly attacks. Its formulations were effective for controlling fruit fly infestations ( Saour & Makee, 2004 ; Braham, Pasqualini & Ncira, 2007 ; Yee, 2008 ; Mezőfi et al, 2018 ). Because of changes in its formulation/preparation as well as its concentration, kaolin has a reduced effect on oriental fruit fly infestation in this investigation.…”

“…Because of changes in its formulation/preparation as well as its concentration, kaolin has a reduced effect on oriental fruit fly infestation in this investigation. For example, we employed a concentration of 2%, whereas the study by Mezőfi et al (2018) and Braham, Pasqualini & Ncira (2007) used concentrations of 4% and 5% (w/v), respectively.…”

“…Indeed, in vivo herbicidal activity of cinnamaldehyde has been observed at 3% (v/v) concentration on A. thaliana leaves [49]. Field insecticidal activity against two spotted mites in cherry fruit was observed after five applications at 0.25% (v/v) concentration [50]. C. zeylanicum and cinnamaldehyde was applied against Alternaria brown spot in tangerines in the field at 0.1% (v/v) [45].…”
