Objective: The aims this study of evaluate the effect of use date (Phoenix dactylifera L.) pits as alternative feed ingredient on egg quality of laying hens.Methods: This study was designed to consist of 5 treatments and 5 replications using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and if the effect was significant (P>0.05) or very significant (P>0.01), then Duncan's Multiple Distance Test (DMRT) was continued. The treatment in this research was the use of date pit flour with different concentration levels, namely 0% (P0), 2.5% (P1), 5% (P2), 7.5% (P3), and 10% (P4).Results: The results showed that the use of date pit flour could increase egg weight, shell weight, shape index, and yolk color.Conclusions: The use of date pit flour (Phoenix dactylifera L.) up to 10% level was used to improve the egg quality of laying hens.

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of various liquid probiotics in drinking water on the quality of the reproductive tract and quail production. The study uses a Completely Randomized Design with directional pattern with four treatments, namely: quail gets drinking water without liquid probiotics (P0), quail gets drinking water with commercial probiotics A (P1), quail gets drinking water with commercial probiotics B (P2), and quail gets drinking drinking water with commercial probiotics C (P3), 5 replications and 5 quails in each study unit. Drinking water is given ad libitum with a liquid probiotic concentration of 2ml / liter. Quail feed contains 22.2% PK and 3032.5 kcal energy. The treatment affected the weight of the reproductive tract + eggs, egg weight and length of the reproductive tract, weight before slaughtered, weight after slaughtered, weight after hair removal, heart weight, gastrointestinal weight, (P <0.01) but had no effect on carcass weight, liver weight, follicular weight, gizard weight, digestive tract length and caeca length. The treatment of liquid probiotics in drinking water increases several indicators of quail reproduction and production.

Penggunaan feed aditif pakan dalam budidaya broiler bertujuan untuk meningkatkan bobot badan akhir atau panen yang lebih tinggi dan menghasilkan karkas yang berkualitas. Salah satu yang dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif aditif pakan, yaitu susu bubuk afkir berbahan dasar kedelei. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat potensi susu bubuk afkir terhadap bobot akhir dan kualitas karkas broiler. Desain penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan. Setiap ulangan berisi 2 ekor broiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan meliputi ransum basal tanpa ditambahkan susu bubuk afkir (P1), ransum basal ditambahkan 2,5% susu bubuk afkir (P2), ransum basal ditambahkan susu bubuk afkir 5% (P3) dan rasum basal ditambahkan susu bubuk afkir 7% (P4). Hasil sidik ragam menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot badan akhir, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, persentase daging tanpa tulang (boneless), persentase tulang, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap rasio daging dan tulang. Pemberian susuk bubuk afkir berbahan dasar kedelei cenderung meningkatkan bobot akhir, bobot karkas, persentase karkas. Penggunaan susuk bubuk afkir berbahan dasar kedelei sebagai aditif pakan dapat ditambahkan kedalam ransum broiler sebanyak 5%.
