Études Cinétiques en Série Alicyclique III. Bromocycloalcanes: substitution Nucléophile Bimoléculaire Irréversible par les ions Iodure, et Solvolyse

Abstract

Arrhenius parameters have been determined for two nucleophilic reactions involving a series of alicyclic bromides and one secondary aliphatic bromide: Irreversible SN2 halogen exchange: RBr + I−→ RI + Br− using potassium iodide in anhydrous acetone. Solvolysis in 40,9% aqueous dioxane . The extent of reaction was determined by conductivity measurements. The relative reactivities observed for the medium and large ring compounds are discussed in terms of an internal steric effect and a transannular interaction effect.
