“…Their consequences in terms of public health explain that a number of countries, encouraged by the WHO, have set up national laboratories for quality control of medicines. Unfortunately, due to lack of resources, the latter could not check the quality of all pharmaceutical products circulating in the countries (WHO, 2017;Djibrine et al, 2018;Diabaté et al, 2018;Ihaku et al, 2019). In the treatment of allergy, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, also known as Chlorphenamine Maleate is considered by the World Health Organization (list updated in April 2013) as an essential drug thanks to its effectiveness and lower cost and, is distributed worldwide as a generic compound (Hall and Hall, 2014;Djambeu, 2015).…”

“…Indeed, the use of edible oil at high temperature induces degradation of major components, notably fatty acids which lead to oil oxydation, polymerisation, isomerisation and hydrolyse [9]. Moreover, the overuse of oil leads to the production of a rate of 10% to 40% of frying-induced compounds in fried oil during Garba production marketed in Abidjan [10]. These compounds which appear during heating can be absorbed by the fried products in permanent way.…”

“…Besides, there is an actual increase in the resistance of usual drugs against infectious diseases. Those combined situations have created a heavy burden on healthcare systems in African countries considering the fact that most of the time there is no quality control performed on the drugs and food entering and or present the market in those countries (Tittikpina, 2013;WHO, 2018;Maïwore et al, 2018;Djibrine et al, 2018;Diabaté et al, 2018;Ishaku et al, 2019). Medicines used against viral infections, caused by HIV-AIDS and hepatitis, are not an exception to this counterfeit.…”
