Estimation of VO2max according to the 3'bike test

Abstract: Purpose. The aim of this study was to derive the regression equation for predicting VO 2 max of athletes by the relatively new submaximal 3'bike Test. Methods. This test was conducted on 1501 active football male players, aged 16÷35 years. A medical anamnesis was administered and then the athletes' weight was measured. Afterwards, the athletes performed the 3'bike Test followed by the Astrand bike Test for comparison reasons. Results. Linear regression of the data indicated that the produced regression model, … Show more

“…Aerobic ability can be estimated by the volume of oxygen a person can consume while exercising at maximum capacity (VO2max), which is the maximum oxygen uptake or consumption. The maximum amount of oxygen that can be obtained and used in one minute can also be used as one of the parameters that can measure a person's aerobic capacity (Rexhepi & Brestovci, 2012).…”
