“…6B-b). These results clearly presented that the modification of carbon nanotubes onto the graphite surface improved the immobilization capacity of dsDNA similarly to the earlier reports using nanomaterials [15,34]. Correspondingly to the surface confined biomolecular interaction with cis-DDP, an increase level was found 32.4% at the R ct value, that may possibly indicate that there was a specific binding of platinum complexes to the guanine bases of in the double helix form of DNA.…”

“…The larger R ct value in almost sevenfolds (shown in Fig. 4Bb) can be similarly explained [43] that DNA probe prevented redox couple, [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3À/4À from reaching the electrode surface due to the fact that the charge repulsion between the negatively charged phosphate backbone of oligonucleotide and [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3À/4À resulted in a reduced ability for electron transfer at the electrode surface.…”

“…In the Nyquist plot of impedance spectra, the semicircle section at higher frequencies characterize the electron transfer limited process and the linear section seen at lower frequencies may be attributed to the diffusion [42]. After the modification of the PGE surface with SWCNT, the average R ct value (shown in Figure 4Ba) was calculated as 132.3 W, which is six times larger than the one obtained by bare PGE (not shown) in parallel to the results obtained by using bare gold electrode and multiwalled carbon nanotube modified one [43]. After CNT modification step, this change obtained at the R ct value has been a strong verification that CNT had been immobilized onto PGE surface.…”
