The smart electricity grids have been evolving to a more complex cyber-physical ecosystem of infrastructures with integrated communication networks, new carbon-free sources of power generation, advanced monitoring and control systems, and a myriad of emerging modern physical hardware technologies. With the unprecedented complexity and heterogeneity in dynamic smart grid networks comes additional vulnerability to emerging threats such as cyber attacks. Rapid development and deployment of advanced network monitoring and communication systems on one hand, and the growing interdependence of the electric power grids to a multitude of lifeline critical infrastructures on the other, calls for holistic defense strategies to safeguard the power grids against cyber adversaries. In order to improve the resilience of the power grid against adversarial attacks and cyber intrusions, advancements should be sought on detection techniques, protection plans, and mitigation practices in all electricity generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. This survey discusses such major directions and recent advancements from a lens of different detection techniques, equipment protection plans, and mitigation strategies to enhance the energy delivery infrastructure resilience and operational endurance against cyber attacks. This undertaking is essential since even modest improvements in resilience of the power grid against cyber threats could lead to sizeable monetary savings and an enriched overall social welfare. This paper presents a new open-ended winding induction motor (OEWIM) based dual-motor differential fourwheel drive (D4WD) for the electric vehicle (EV). Constant speed operation through cruise control is achieved using direct torque control (DTC) algorithm. The redundant vectors are used in the switching vector selection of the DTC algorithm to achieve balanced battery currents. Fault-tolerant operation of the drive is demonstrated, where the EV will work with full torque even if one of the inverters in rear motor drive or front motor drive or both fail. The dynamic model of the proposed drive is presented. The proposed drive and fault-tolerant operation (FTO) is verified through simulation as per the FTP-75 driving cycle. An experimental prototype of the proposed drive is developed, and the above algorithms are verified experimentally as per the FTP-75 and HFET driving cycles. Both the simulation as well as the experimental results are presented, and these results agree with the theoretical observations. Stable operation of EV for the entire test cycle under normal operation, as well as inverter fault conditions, is demonstrated.

With the continuous reduction of renewable resources and the increasing awareness of environmental protection, the phenomenon of replacing oil with electricity has become more and more common. Electric vehicles are an obvious example. In the past few years, electric vehicles have developed rapidly and become more and more popular in people’s lives. However, imperfect technology has caused frequent safety accidents. The main reason for this is the charging safety risk. In this paper, there are many complex factors affecting the charging safety of electric vehicles in terms of the safety of electric vehicle charging and the energy and data exchange direction between charging piles and electric vehicles. Based on the analysis of the factors that affect the charging safety of electric vehicles, this paper combines big data technology to study the charging safety of electric vehicles.
