Das früher aus den Samen der sarmentogenin‐produzierenden Strophanthus‐Variante Nr. MPD 50 isolierte und als Substanz Nr. 799 bezeichnete Glykosid wird Sarnovid genannt. Durch hydrolytische Spaltung nach der Methode von Mannich & Siewert liess es sich in Sarmentocymarin und D‐Digitalose spalten. Daraus lässt sich die Konstitution ableiten. Aus der optischen Drehung kann gefolgert werden, dass es sich um ein β‐D‐Digitalosid handelt. Beim krist. Acetat des Sarnovids muss es sich um ein Triacetat handeln.
