The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of Iodine supplementation in drinking water on blood hematology and enzyme parameters in Black goats during late pregnancy. Twenty-four pregnant local black goats were used in the present study. Each goat’s was drenched with potassium iodide with 0 mg I/day (control; C), 0.50 mg I/day (treatment one; T1) as low iodine group and 1.00 mg I/day (treatment two; T2) as high iodine group. Blood samples were collected weekly from six weeks before parturition from goats and 1st week of ages of kids. Blood samples were analyzed for hematology and enzymes parameter. Hematological parameters of goats include RBC (106/µL), WBC (103/µL), HB (g/dL), PLT (103/µL), HCT (%), GRA (103/µL), Lymph (103/µL; P=0.005) and MCV were significantly affected by I drenching. There was also a significant effect of I drench on enzyme parameters; alanine transaminase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), aspartate transaminase (AST) and creatinine kinase (CK) of goats. In conclusions, I drenching had an impact on the most of the blood hematology and enzymes parameter of the goat throughout the time of the study

The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of multinutritional blocks (BMs) associated with the concentrate content in the diet of lactating goats and their effects on milk production and economic viability. Eight goats Parda Alpina, multiparas were distributed in two Latin squares (4x4). The experiment consisted of four treatments (0.971, 0.746, 0.521 and 0.296 kg concentrate day-1 per goat) and BMs ad libitum. It was evaluated the consumption, milk monitoring and the system was analyzed economically. If there was a significant effect of the concentrate, the control treatment was compared to the others using the Dunnett test and 5% regression analysis. When the concentrate contents were high in the diets, the total dry matter intake decreased linearly. However, there was an inverse behavior for the consumption of BMs. Milk production (PL kg day-1) was linear and positively related to the increase of concentrate levels in the diets. The PL was lower for the decreasing levels of concentrate when compared to the control diet. The economic parameters indicate that the use of low concentrate levels associated with BMs is the best feeding strategy for lactating goats. The multinutritional blocks can be used to feed lactating goats to partially replace the concentrate.

The agricultural industry in Malaysia remains a vital element in providing food and employment. Introducing innovation in beef cattle farming has brought new changes in the livestock sector. Hopefully, it can generate a high income among farmers and brighten the Malaysian economy. However, introducing innovations such as assisted reproduction technology, biosecurity and intensive rearing require more significant effort from all parties, including farmers, extension agents and the government. This paper aims to identify beef cattle farmers' challenges in adopting innovations to improve beef production. Process of identifying, screening and eligibility is essential in producing an extensive literature review paper. From these processes, nine articles were found as the most relevant for this review article. The financial problem, communication failure and inaccessible information were the main challenges faced by farmers and extension agents in implementing innovations. Nevertheless, cooperation from all parties can lead to an excellent distribution of knowledge and skills among farmers.
