The low yield of soybeans is caused by drought, soft organic matter, and space for irregular plant growth. This study examines how plant spacing, and straw mulch dosage affect soybean yield. The research was conducted from August to December 2021 at the Field Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, UHO. The research tools used in this study were tractors, hoes, ruler meters, ovens, analytical scales, and other supporting equipment. The materials consisted of soybean of the Anjasmoro variety, straw mulch, and other supporting materials. The study used a split-plot design arranged in a randomized block design. The main plot is the spacing (J) which consists of 2 levels, namely 20 cm x 20 cm (J1) and 20 cm x 30 cm (J2). Subplots were the dose of straw mulch (M) which consisted of three levels, namely without straw mulch (M0), 4 tons ha-1(M1), and 8 tons ha-1 (M2). The observed variables included the total number of pods per plant, weight of 100 seeds (g), seed weight per plant (g), harvest index (IP), and yield (tons). ANOVA analyzed data, and statistically different were tested by DMRT (α=0.05) using SAS 9.2. The interaction of plant spacing and straw mulch an increasing: the total number of pods, the weight of 100 grains, grain weight, harvest index, and yield. Plant spacing of 20 cm x 30 cm and the straw mulch of 8 t ha-1 (J2M2) obtained a product of 2.18 t ha-1 (an increase of 44.4%) compared to a spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm and without straw mulch (J1M0).

Innovation to produce upland rice superior varieties is by developing local upland rice varieties with high yield and lodging resistance. Upland rice varieties also must have high adaptability in suboptimal land. This research aims to identify and determine the upland rice line F8 that is tolerant to lodging with high yielding potential.The research was carried out from September 2021 to January 2022 in Balunijuk Village Rice Fields, Bangka Regency. This research was conducted using an experimental method. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The treatments consisted of 5 F8 lines and 5 comparison varieties. Data analysis used ANOVA followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that generally upland rice genotypes were not able to adapt to inundation conditions, low pH, and Fe stress. Genotypes that were able to adapt were PBM UBB 1 (red rice), Danau Gaung and 21B-57-21-21-23 line (white rice), with the lodging index of 0% for these three genotypes, and a Fe toxicity scale with a value of sensitive. The genotype with the lowest yield was Inpago 8 and 23F-04-10-18-18 line. Genotypes with leaf length, number of grain per panicle, number and weight of pithy seeds per plant height increased seed yield/plot.

Black rice is one of fungtional food sources. The obstacle of its cultivation is availability of qualified seeds and organic fertilizers input. This research aimed to determine the effect of stable manure on growth and yield of black rice, to observe the effect of seddling number per planting hole and to obtain the best combination of stable manure and seedling number on the growth and yield of black rice. The research was conduct in rice field on Karanglewas Kidul village, Karanglewas district, Banyumas, Central Java during April until September 2016. This research used a split plot design, with 3 repetition. The main plot was three type of stable manure (chiken, goat and cow), while the subplot was seddling number (1, 2 and 3). Data was analyzed using ANOVA and DMRT at p 0.05 level. The results showed that chicken manure gave the highest productivity rice of 5.15 tons ha-1. The 1 seedling each hole gave the highest result on panicle length and grain number per panicle. The better combination treatment was chicken manure and three seedling per planting hole wich gave the highest grain yield of 5.38 tons ha-1.
