Management of teacher competency development and training in improving learning quality still has constraints on planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. This study aimed to describe the management of teacher competency development and training in improving learning quality. This qualitative study used case-study and descriptive methods. Data were collected using observations, interviews, and documentation then reduced, presented, and concluded. Based on the results, the management of teacher competency development and training in improving learning quality has been running to improve teacher competence making them have the structure, concept and scientific mindset to excel students through high learning quality even though it is not optimal due to constraints on the number of teachers, mismatches with qualifications, oriented to assignment scheduling, low HR quality, and low mastery of technology so that the proposed solution is to train teachers to have good competence, teach according to their own expertise, career development through functional roles based on credit score calculations, motivate teachers to continue study to a higher level, provide opportunities for teachers to participate in training, raise salaries, conduct clinical supervision to all teachers, and assess learning tools owned by teachers.

Teaching competence and teacher performance are determinant issues in Islamic educational institutions to date, including modern pesantren. Therefore, this study attempted to analyze the effect of organizational learning, academic supervision, and work motivation that possibly enhance teaching competence and teacher performance which has been rarely studied, especially in pesantren. This study involved 128 teachers at modern pesantren Ummul Quro Al-Islami Bogor selected through a simple random sampling method. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results found that teaching competence positively and significantly affected teacher performance in modern pesantren. Furthermore, organizational learning was also found to positively and significantly affect teaching competence and teacher performance. Meanwhile, academic supervision and work motivation positively and significantly affected teaching competence, but insignificantly affected teacher performance. This study also examined the indirect effect and found that organizational learning, academic supervision, and work motivation positively and significantly affected teacher performance in modern pesantren mediated by teaching competencies. Thus, modern pesantren can effectively enhance their teachers' performance by increasing organizational learning, academic supervision, and work motivation through the mediation of teaching competencies.

The monitoring of the education quality standards on the implementasion of the distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic had proven to be difficult. This study aims to develop a monitoring model by utilizing the Gsuite facility to assist principals in supervising learning activities carried out by teachers. This development research used the Borg and Gall model which had been adapted by Lawrence Cunningham. FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and SWOT analysis were used during the research, starting from collecting information, setting goals, making initial models, testing, and evaluating until the final model was produced. The trial was carried out by involving 20 respondents consisting of principals and teachers. The results of the trial and application of the model showed significant results. MMBGSuite's product have met the standard eligibility criteria by showing results of 82.9% for media validation and 76.2% for content or material validation so that it declare to get the “feasible” predicate. Likewise for practicality standards, MMBGSuite also received a percentage score of 80.6% from teachers and 85.4% from school principals indicating that this model is easy to use and practical. The results of this study indicate that the Gsuite-based monitoring model (MMBGSuite) can provide solutions to facilitate school principals in carrying out supervision and controlling the quality of the academic activities when distance learning was implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.
