The purpose of this study is to develop variations of basic pointing technique exercises for 2019 class of Sports Coaching Education students. The method used in this research is Research and Development with a procedural model approach involving 38 PKO students batch 2019 at the State University of Malang as research subjects. Collecting data in the form of observations, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results of the needs analysis on 38 students showed that it requires the development of a variety of basic pointing techniques. The results of the needs analysis for petanque teachers showed that it required the development of a variety of basic pointing techniques that were packaged using video-based media, accompanied by biomechanical analysis material that focused on basic pointing techniques. This research has gone through a process of two petanque expert validations which obtained 83 percent results, two media expert validations obtained 85 percent results, small group tests obtained 86 percent results, namely the product was suitable for use without revision, large group tests obtained 90 percent results, namely product development proper to use. The results of the study concluded that the product developed in the form of a variation of video-based basic pointing technique exercises met the very valid criteria and was categorized as suitable for use in learning the Petanque subject of students PKO 2019 State University of Malang.
Abstrak: Tujuan pada penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan variasi latihan teknik dasar pointing pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Kepelatihan Olahraga angkatan 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni Research and Development dengan pendekatan model procedural yang melibatkan 38 mahasiswa PKO angkatan 2019 di Universitas Negeri Malang sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil analisis kebutuhan pada 38 mahasiswa diperoleh bahwa memerlukan pengembangan variasi teknik dasar pointing yang bervariatif. Hasil analisis kebutuhan pada pengajar petanque diperoleh bahwa memerlukan pengembangan variasi teknik dasar pointing yang dikemas menggunakan media berbasis video, disertai dengan materi analisis biomekanika yang terfokus pada teknik dasar pointing. Penelitian ini telah melalui proses dua validasi ahli petanque yang diperoleh hasil 83 persen, dua validasi ahli media diperoleh hasil 85 persen, uji kelompok kecil diperoleh hasil 86 persen yakni produk layak digunakan tanpa melakukan revisi, uji kelompok besar diperoleh hasil sebesar 90 persen yakni produk pengembangan layak digunakan. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan simpulan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan berupa variasi latihan teknik dasar pointing berbasis video telah memenuhi kriteria sangat valid dan dikategorikan layak digunakan pada pembelajaran mata kuliah petanque mahasiswa PKO 2019 Universitas Negeri Malang.
