Developing a Scale to Measure Students’ Attitudes toward Science

Abstract: The aim of this study is to develop a science attitude scale (SAS). For that purpose, the literature review has been done for suggestions for creating scales and a new draft scale developed. The draft scale was analyzed by specialists and a pilot study is done after its approval by experts. The SAS is prepared with 21 items and among these, 11 items are reverse-coded. The SAS consists of Likert-type items. The sample of the study consists of 154 college students studying at the Faculty of Education, Elementary… Show more

“…Regarding the cutoff point of CFI, some reports 16‐18 accept 0.80 for an adequate fit. However, these articles 16‐18 also comment on the limitations of setting 0.80 as the threshold.…”

“…This present study used at least any two of the following criteria, CFI > 0.80, TLI > 0.80, SRMR < 0.08, GFI > 0.90, and RMSEA < 0.08 to indicate a fit CFA model. The use of the cut-off scores was based on the literature review of Akkuş [57]…”
