Bud chip method has proven to improve the productivity of sugarcane and produce more efficient, but still a few farmers who use it. This is due to higher production costs and sugarcane farmers are still not technically skilled. This study aimed to analyze the technical efficiency of sugarcane farming with conventional methods and bud chips in the PTPN X and to identify the factors underlying the farmers to use methods of bud chips in the PTPN X. The number of samples used as many as 31 farmers (11 farmers sugarcane bud chip method and 20 sugarcane farmers mule method). This study uses a stochastic frontier production function approach with Stochastic Frontier production function Cobb Douglas and using a logistic regression model. The results showed the value of technical efficiency index sugarcane growers with bud chip method is efficient (TE = 0.98) whereas the sugarcane farmers who use mule systems have not been efficiently categorized (TE= 0.78). Bud chip method has been proven can improve technical efficiency because it can result in higher productivity. The underlying things that make farmers choose the bud chip method are extensive cultivation, education level and ease of sugarcane cultivation with the bud chip method. Therefore, sugarcane productivity in PTPN X can be increased through the use of the bud chip method accompanied by an increase in sugarcane land area and training for farmers.

Abstrak: Salah satu komoditas perikanan yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi dan potensial untuk dikembangkan di Indonesia adalah lobster. Pulau Lombok merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil lobster yang memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan. Namun demikian, produktivitas budidaya pembesaran lobster di Pulau Lombok masih rendah karena faktor manajemen. Sehingga diperlukan upaya peningkatan produktivitas dan efisiensi teknis untuk pengembangan budidaya pembesaran lobster yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi produksi usaha pembesaran lobster (2) menganalisis tingkat efisiensi teknis dan faktor yang memengaruhi inefisiensi teknis usaha pembesaran lobster. Data primer diambil melalui survei terhadap 106 rumah tangga pembudidaya lobster. Fungsi produksi stokastik frontier Cobb-Douglass dengan metode Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) digunakan untuk menganalisis efisiensi pada masing-masing usaha pembesaran. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pembudidaya adalah efisien secara teknis dengan rata-rata tingkat efisiensi teknis sebesar 0,91. Input produksi yang memiliki pengaruh signifikan adalah jumlah bibit, pakan dan lama waktu budidaya. Faktor yang memengaruhi inefisiensi teknis adalah umur pembudidaya, pengalaman, pendidikan dan persepsi pembudidaya terhadap keberlanjutan usaha pembesaran lobster.Kata kunci: efisiensi teknis, usaha pembesaran lobster, fungsi produksi stokastik frontier, Cobb-Douglas, MLE

Red rice is germplasm in Gunung Kidul Regency, whose territory is north, central, and south. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the production of red rice farming in Gunung Kidul Regency, analyze the level of technical efficiency, and the factors that influence the technical inefficiency of red rice farming in Gunung Kidul Regency. This research was conducted in Gunung Kidul Regency, which was determined purposively, in sampling 200 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas Stochastic Frontier model production function. The results showed that the variable area of land, seeds, manure, phonska fertilizer, urea fertilizer, liquid pesticides, and labor had a significant effect on the production of red rice. Technically, farmers have been efficient, with an average index of 0.837. Meanwhile, from the five internal factors of farmers, age, formal education, farming experience, dummy zones in the north, dummy zones in the south, no effect on inefficiency
