The article have sought to portray the experience of ensuring observance of the ethical aspects involved in data gathering with adolescents living with HIV/Aids. Data gathering in two studies is reported: one , using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, with 23 adolescents, and another with a qualitative focus, with 8 adolescents. For both, the criteria for participation included current use of anti-retroviral therapy, awareness of their diagnosis, and being subject to outpatient monitoring at a specialized care service. Guaranteeing the ethical principles -autonomy, doing no harm, beneficence and justice involved: how to approach the adolescents to invite them to participate in the survey, the adolescents' fears regarding the research, the protection of family members and caregivers, the revelation of the diagnosis to the adolescent and to third parts, and confidentiality. The report of our experience aims to contribute to the discussion of issues involving the guarantee of ethical aspects in research. Keywords: Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. HIV. Resumo Ética na pesquisa com adolescentes que vivem com HIV/AidsCom o presente trabalho, objetivou-se relatar a experiência de garantir os aspectos éticos envolvidos na etapa de coleta de dados com adolescentes que vivem com HIV/aids. Trata-se de relato de coleta de dados de duas pesquisas: uma, de abordagem quantitativa e delineamento transversal, com 23 adolescentes, e outra, de enfoque qualitativo, com 8 adolescentes. Para ambas, os critérios de participação dos adolescentes incluíram: estar em uso de terapia antirretroviral, ter conhecimento de seu diagnóstico e manter seguimento ambulatorial em serviço especializado. A garantia dos principios éticos -autonomia, não maleficência, beneficência e justiça -envolveram: a forma de abordagem para participar da pesquisa, os receios dos adolescentes quanto à pesquisa, a proteção dos familiares/cuidadores, a revelação do diagnóstico ao adolescente e a terceiros e o sigilo. O relato da experiência pretende contribuir para a discussão acerca das questões que envolvem a garantia dos aspectos éticos nas pesquisas. Palavras-chave: Síndrome da imunodeficiência adquirida. Objective: to understand how the beliefs and values of the families of HIV-positive adolescents for Human Immunodeficiency Virus influence family dynamics. Methods: this is a qualitative research with seven family members of adolescents with Human Immunodeficiency Virus, developed in a hospital of reference in infectious diseases. A semi-structured interview was used to collect information. Qualitative research assumptions were applied and the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research protocol was used for organization and analysis. Results: the family members reported that the adolescents are not perceived as susceptible to infection by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus; they considered AIDS to be a serious disease surrounded by discrimination and prejudice; they identify benefits as guidelines for health and family support. The barriers were difficulty adhering to treatment, teenage pregnancy, "disobedience" and family disharmony. Conclusion: beliefs and values interfere in the way of thinking, acting and caring for the HIV positive adolescent to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Descritores: Adolescent; HIV; Culture; Family. Objetivo: compreender como crenças e valores das famílias de adolescentes soropositivos para Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana influenciam na dinâmica familiar. Métodos: pesquisa qualitativa realizada com sete familiares de adolescentes com Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana, desenvolvido num hospital de referência em doenças infecciosas. Utilizou-se entrevista semiestruturada para a coleta de informações. Aplicaram-se os pressupostos da pesquisa qualitativa e o protocolo Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research para organização e análise. Resultados: os familiares informaram que os adolescentes não se percebem suscetíveis à infecção pelo Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana; consideraram a aids uma doença grave e rodeada de discriminação e preconceitos; identificam como benefícios as orientações sobre saúde e o apoio familiar; já as barreiras foram: dificuldade de adesão ao tratamento, gravidez na adolescência, "desobediência" e convivência familiar desarmonizada. Conclusão: crenças e valores interferem na forma de pensar, agir e cuidar do adolescente soropositivo para o Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana.

Contextos de vulnerabilidade de adolescentes que (con)vivem com HIV: uma revisão integrativa

Introducción: En los adolescentes, las vulnerabilidades derivadas de la infección por el VIH están ligadas a las singularidades biopsicosociales de la etapa, convirtiéndolos en un grupo prioritario para las estrategias de salud. Objetivo: Analizar el estado del arte sobre las situaciones de vulnerabilidad de los adolescentes que (co)viven con el VIH. Método: revisión integrativa de la literatura realizada en ocho bibliotecas/bases de datos para responder a la pregunta guía. Se siguieron las recomendaciones estandarizadas para la revisión, los hallazgos se categorizaron y discutieron de acuerdo con el marco de vulnerabilidad. Resultado: se identificaron 7.517 publicaciones, de las cuales se incluyeron 11. Se evidenciaron diferentes situaciones de vulnerabilidad individual, social y programática que viven los jóvenes con VIH, a saber: omisión del diagnóstico, estigma, discriminación, baja adherencia a la terapia antirretroviral, angustia emocional, entre otras. Discusión: Los adolescentes que viven con VIH son susceptibles a situaciones que los exponen a riesgos reales y/o potenciales. En ese sentido, es imperativo calificar los servicios y acciones de salud, en una lógica de oferta universal e integral, libre de juicios basados en creencias personales. Conclusión: Los adolescentes que (co)viven con el VIH se insertan en contextos dinámicos, subjetivos y complejos de vulnerabilidad, constreñidos por aspectos individuales, sociales y programáticos que influyen negativamente en su adolescencia, su salud y sus relaciones.
