ResumoO presente trabalho avaliou a influência da adição de urucum como agente pigmentante sobre as características de coloração da pele, músculo e desempenho produtivo de Carassius auratus, criados em hapas de 0,15 m 3 (dimensões de 0,50 x 0,50 x 0,65 m), dispostos no interior de um tanque de alvenaria circular de 25 m 3. Foram utilizados 336 alevinos de C. auratus distribuídos inteiramente ao acaso em 28 hapas, com sete tratamentos e quatro repetições, com 12 peixes por unidade. Os níveis de adição de urucum foram 0,0; 0,25; 0,50; 1,00; 2,00; 4,00 e 8,00%. Os peixes com peso inicial médio de 1,12 ± 0,18 g e comprimento de 4,31 ± 0,44 cm, foram alimentados as 08, 11, 14 e 17 horas. A característica colorimétrica de b* (amarelo) mostrou valores significativos aos 96 e 141 dias no sistema de coordenadas Hunter com adição de 2,0 e 1,0% de urucum na dieta, respectivamente e, no sistema de coordenadas CMYK aos 96 dias para C (ciano) e aos 141 dias para Y (amarelo) com adição de 8,0 e 2,0% de urucum na dieta respectivamente. Observaram-se diferenças (P<0,05) para peso final médio, ganho em peso médio, conversão alimentar aparente, taxa de crescimento diário e eficiência alimentar. Recomenda-se uma dieta contendo 1,0% de adição de urucum para C. auratus para o melhor desempenho e de 1,0 a 4,0% de adição de urucum para intensificação luminosa da pele dos peixes. We used 336 C. auratus fingerlings completely randomized design in 28 hapas with seven treatments and four replicates with 12 fish per unit. Artículo de investigaciónDigestibilidad aparente de dietas con torta de palmiste sobre el rendimiento productivo de la especie nativa Cichlasoma festae en la etapa de cría Apparent digestibility of diets with palm kernel cake on the productive performance of the native species Cichlasoma festae in the breeding stage ResumenEl objetivo fue valorar el efecto de dietas a base de torta de palmiste sobre el rendimiento productivo, calculando el incremento de peso (IP), incremento de peso relativo (IPR), tasa de crecimiento (TC), tasa de crecimiento incremental (TCI), conversión alimenticia (CA), digestibilidad aparente de la materia seca (MS), proteína (PB) y energía bruta (EB), así como, el costo de esta alimentación y la mortalidad del pez nativo vieja colorada en la etapa de cría. Los peces fueron alimentados con cuatro dietas (0, 4, 8 y 12% de palmiste) y cuatro repeticiones por tratamiento, por 30 días, alojados en 16 jaulas en un estanque. Se determinaron: el peso final (PF), IP, IPR, TC, TCI, CA, los coeficientes de digestibilidad MS, PB y EB, costos de alimentación y mortalidad. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en el PF, IP, IPR, TC Y TCI de la vieja colorada, entre los tratamientos T1, T2 y T3 de inclusión de la torta de palmiste; solo la dieta con mayor porcentaje de inclusión (T4) mostró unos peores resultados con respecto a la dieta T1. La CA presentó un mayor valor en la dieta testigo en comparación con la dieta T2 (p<0,05). El T4 evidencio la peor conversión alimenticia (p>0,05). A medida que se incrementó el % de palmiste el costo de la dieta disminuyó significativamente. La inclusión en la dieta de la vieja colorada de hasta un 8% de palmiste no afectó a los parámetros de rendimiento productivo estudiados. Además, se abarata la dieta significativamente. sUMMAryThis paper was aimed to determine the apparent digestibility of crude protein, crude fat, gross energy, calcium and phosphorus of tilapia meat and bone meal (Oreochromis niloticus) (TMBM), the catfish meat and bone meal (Ictalurus punctatus) (CMBM), pintado cathfish meat and bone meal (Pseudoplatystoma corruscans) (PCMBM) and the African catfish meat and bone meal (Clarias gariepinus) (ACMBM) for Nile tilapia. For that, the indirect method was used, using chromium (III) oxide (Cr 2 O 3 ), as an inert indicator incorporated in the ration of 1 g·kg -1 . Nile tilapia (400 fish) were distributed with 50±7.89 g (mean ± SD) in 20 conical tanks in a completely randomized experimental design, consisting of five treatments with four replications. The treatments consisted of a reference diet and four diets consisting of 800 g·kg-1 of reference diet and 200 g·kg-1 of the test ingredients. The PCMBM showed a better digestibility coefficients for crude protein, calcium and phosphorus, while TMBM obtained a higher value for digestible energy and crude fat. The highest mineral matter result was obtained from CMBM. The results of this study suggest that Nile tilapia has limited ability to digest and use the components in the evaluated ingredients. The presence of large amounts of structural collagen in these ingredients and their low digestibility may have caused reduction in the availability of calcium and phosphorus.Digestibilidade aparente de farinha de carne e ossos de peixe para tilápia do Nilo quimicocesar@hotmail.com resUMo Este trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de determinar a digestibilidade aparente da proteína bruta, extrato etéreo, energia bruta, cálcio e fósforo das farinhas de carne e ossos de tilápia do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus), do catfish (Ictalurus punctatus), do pintado (Pseudoplatystoma corruscans) e do bagre africano (Clarias gariepinus) para a tilápia do Nilo. Para tal, foi utilizado o método indireto, com o uso do óxido de cromo (III) (Cr 2 O 3 ), como indicador inerte, incorporado na ração em 1 g·kg-1. Foram distribuídas 400 tilápias com 50±7,89 g (média ± DP) em 20 tanques cônicos em um delineamento experimental inteiramente ao acaso, constituído por cinco tratamentos com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram compostos de uma dieta referência e outras quatro dietas constituídas de 800 g·kg-1 da dieta referência e 200 g·kg-1 da farinha de carne e ossos de tilápias, catfish, pintado e bagre africano. A farinha de carne e ossos de pintado demonstrou melhor digestão para proteína bruta, cálcio e fósforo, enquanto a farinha de carne e ossos de tilápia obteve valor maior para extrato etéreo e energia digestível. Para matéria mineral, o maior resultado obtido foi para a farinha de carne e ossos de catfish.
