The likelihood and uncertainty of severe rains and flooding in the middle basin of the Yangtze River have grown due to global warming and growing urbanization. A flood risk assessment index system is built based on resilience theory to assess community flood risk in a significantly changing environment, with communities serving as the primary body to manage flood risk in cities. The flood risk level of communities in Wuhan from 2011 to 2020 was assessed using the Analytic Hierarchical Process (AHP) and Dempster–Shafer (DS) evidence theory, utilizing an example of the typical Wuhan community. The findings indicate that: (1) The weight of hazard-causing factors is the largest and has the greatest influence on the risk of flooding in the community. (2) When looking at time series, the risk of hazard-causing factors gradually rises, while the risks associated with systemic governance, protective works, and community vulnerability steadily decline. Building resilient communities and enhancing flood risk management capability should be priorities for the government, local communities, and citizens.

Leadership is one of the essential factors that can influence community involvement in realizing the character of male and female students in the pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in Jambi, Indonesia. This study proposed Nyai’s (female religious leaders in the pesantren) charismatic, economic, and social responsibility leadership models in the context of community empowerment (CE). This quantitative research aimed to determine the contribution of Nyai’s leadership models to CE. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed using path and flowchart analysis. The results showed that the three Nyai’s leadership models in this study influenced and contributed to CE to support the pesantren’s activities and programs. This study recommended adopting the three Nyai’s leadership models in empowering the community in the pesantren.

BPBD Kabupaten Bandung Barat merupakan sebuah lembaga pemerintah nonkementerian yang memiliki tugas diantaranya adalah memberikan pedoman dan pengarahan terhadap usaha penanggulangan bencana yang mencakup pencegahan bencana, penanganan keadaan darurat bencana, rehabilitasi, dan rekonstruksi secara adil dan setara, menyampaikan informasi kegiatan penanggulangan bencana kepada masyarakat. Agar proses penanggulangan dan pemberian informasi bencana dilakukan secara merata maka, dibentuklah sebuah Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) khususnya di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, akan tetapi pemberian informasi yang diberikan BPBD Kabupaten Bandung Barat mengenai mitigasi dan persiapan bencana belum dilakukan secara menyeluruh, dimana data yang diberikan bukan data per kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, selain itu tidak adanya informasi mengenai ancaman bencana, bantuan logistik, serta peralatan penunjang penanggulangan bencana. Hasil keluaran dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem yang diimplementasikan pada perangkat lunak untuk melakukan pengolahan data penanggulangan bencana dalam membantu proses bisnis yang ada pada BPBD Kabupaten Bandung Barat.
