Chemical Composition from Essential oil of Cardiopetalum calophyllum Schltdl. (Annonacea

Abstract: Abstract:The Annonaceae family consists of ~135 genera with diverse species and a large number of chemical compounds arising from the secondary metabolism. However, the chemical composition of the essential oil of several species of the family such as Cardiopetalum calophyllum has not been completely determined. The leaves of Cardiopetalum calophyllum (Annonaceae) were collected during different months of the year, between 5:00 and 8:00 h in the morning, to determine the chemical composition of essential oils.… Show more

“…Accordingly, studies with essential oil of Calophyllum cardiopetalum leaves, for example, have not correlated isolated compounds with antioxidant activity. However, when β-caryophyllene was combined with phenolic compounds, an evident increase in antioxidant capacity by means of synergistic effects was observed [59]. Therefore, the correlation between compounds that have potential biological activities is a complex feature, as the synergistic effect between metabolites can have major effects on these activities [60].…”

“…Pathogenic isolates of R. stolonifer were collected in November 2018, by direct isolaton of fungal structures of infected grapes. Assays were carried out in the agricultural microbiology laboratory at IF Goiano -Campus Rio Verde and the antifungal activity of EOs from C. sinensis fruit peel were evaluated in agreement with the disc-diffusion method described by Xavier et al (2016), at 25-100 µL doses of EOs (Figure 1 -lima orange and Figure 2 -bahia navel orange). Negative controls were dishes with no addition of EOs (witness) whereas the positive control was the fungicide Carboxin + Thiram, at 25 µg/mL of active ingredient.…”
