“…With the decrease of the diamond lattice diameter caused by the mechanical polishing force, in the area where the defect formed, the energy range of different phonons involved in the Raman scattering process becomes wider. The more widely distributed phonon energy results in the broadening of Raman spectral lines [52]. Therefore, the stress release by the defect growth along the 'hard' directions in diamond has not caused a Raman shift of the diamond sp 3 peak but resulted in the broadening of the sp 3 peak after higher speed polishing.…”
