Avaliação de Crianças com Diparesia Espástica Segundo a Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF)

Abstract

RESUMO: as disfunções decorrentes da paralisia cerebral (PC), associadas à falta de adaptações ambientais podem resultar tanto no agravo da incapacidade e/ou das limitações da criança em desempenhar atividades funcionais, quanto em restrições à sua participação. Por isso, faz-se necessária a avaliação da funcionalidade dessa criança para melhor conhecer as atividades realizadas, bem como as condições de participação em contextos significativos ao seu desenvolvimento. Este estudo teve por objetivos avaliar a funcionalidade, classificar o desempenho e a capacidade e investigar a participação de crianças com PC do tipo diparesia espástica. O estudo envolveu três crianças com diagnóstico de PC do tipo diparesia espástica, deambuladoras, idade entre nove e treze anos, e suas mães. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas dos participantes mediante roteiro estruturado; e avaliação funcional das crianças, utilizando-se um instrumento fundamentado na Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade (CIF). Os resultados obtidos revelaram importantes limitações relacionadas principalmente às atividades de mobilidade e autocuidado das crianças com GMFCS II e III; e evidenciaram leve aumento da dificuldade no desempenho quando comparado à capacidade dos participantes. O instrumento fundamentado na CIF revelou-se útil e eficaz para investigar a funcionalidade de crianças com PC do tipo diparesia espástica em idade escolar, pois permitiu avaliar a capacidade e o desempenho e identificar tanto limitações na realização de atividades pelas crianças, como algumas restrições à sua participação.
