“…Ressalta-se que a escolha do cuidador costuma ser ao acaso e a opção pelos cuidados nem sempre é do cuidador, mas, muitas vezes, expressão de um desejo do paciente ou falta de outra opção, podendo, também, ocorrer de um modo inesperado para um familiar que, ao se sentir responsável, assume este cuidado, mesmo não se reconhecendo como um cuidador 12 .
