Abstract:Synthesized tris[d,d-dicampholylmethanato]europium(III), Eu(dcm)3, and three other commercially available chiral lanthanide shift reagents are used to resolve the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of the enantiomeric N-CH3 and C-CH3 protons in d- and l-methamphetamine. The chemical shift difference between the corresponding enantiomeric protons induced by these four shift reagents are compared and evaluated in their prospective use for enantiomeric identification and determination. It is concluded that … Show more
“…Capillary column gas chromatography is a technique commonly used for the analysis of mixtures containing PAC (1). A retention index system for linear temperature programmed gas chromatography (GC) of PAC has recently been described in the literature (2) along with reported retention index data for a large number of PAC (3,4). Retention indices are widely used as a standardized method for reporting retention data.…”

“…Drug enantiomers often have different biological activities; thus their differentiation is an issue of medical and regulatory importance (13). This importance is illustrated in cases where one enantiomer is under regulatory control while the other is not.…”
“…Enantiomeric analysis of abused drugs in the authors' laboratories date back to 1981, mainly involving gas chromatographic and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometric approaches [9][10][11][12][13]. More recent studies utilized liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis [14,15].…”
