Antenna Performance Improvement in Elliptical Array Using RMI Method of Mutual Coupling Compensation

Abstract: The number of wireless electronic gadgets used in mobile communication, vehicle collision avoidance system, compact radars, etc. is extremely increasing at a rapid rate. Thus, the characteristics of the antennas involved in these gadgets are to be designed very stringently so as to avoid interferences & coupling and to improve compatibility, susceptibility, etc. Compact smart antenna with improved performance is highly essential to meet this challenging scenario. Mutual coupling between various elements of an … Show more

“…EAA consists of several elements arranged in the form of an ellipse having an equal or unequal spacing between the antennas of the array. 2 Concentric elliptical array antenna (CEAA) is subjected to uniform excitation to obtain a radiation pattern with high directivity but the value of SLL is not satisfactory. To improve the value of SLL while keeping the peak directivity at the desired level or higher, thinning is performed in an antenna array.…”

“…Currently, the communication industries want antennas to function at a distinct band while being lightweight, inexpensive, and capable of excellent performance. A Microstrip antenna [20] is used to boost the MIMO channel's capacity. It offers a number of benefits low weight, conformal to the surface of objects, low profile, and ease of manufacture.…”

“…The electromagnetic field which must be received by other neighboring elements in the array such mutual conjunction effect the generally seen as a disturbance which retrogrades the implementation of the array. Two kinds of conjunction restitution methods: Conventional Mutual Impedance (CMI) and Receiving Mutual Impedance (RMI) methods are prevalent [8].…”
