“…Based on the gravity model, Anderson and Wincoop [30] established that trade volume was inversely proportional to the geographical distance, and the shorter the geographical distance between economies, the greater the trade volume. Regional free trade agreements (RTA) are important means for economies to promote economic integration and eliminate trade barriers, shaping the global trade pattern [31]. The index of revealed comparative advantages was established by the author Balassa [ 25 ]: where is: X—export; i—country; j—section or division; t—total export; n—group of exporting countries.…”

“…Similarly, still in late 1980, Vollrath [20] found that the most competitive agricultural exporters are usually those with the least governmental intervention. However, Mizik [21] points that namely supportive legislation and policy is the most crucial factor that contributes to the competitiveness of domestic producers, followed by higher value-added/more sophisticated goods, and highly efficient, and profitable production. Nagy and Jambor [22] argue that the main reasons behind a strong competitive advantage can be seen in the production of highly processed products and specialization in the production of one or a few of the competitive products.…”
