Abstract:There is no consensus in the literature regarding the influence of family configuration on the psychological well-being of adolescents. Based on the perception of adolescents, this study evaluates the influence of family configuration, social skills and social support appraisals as potential predictors of adolescent psychological well-being. The participants were 454 adolescents aged between 13 and 17 years from nuclear, separated and remarried families. The adolescents were students in the first and second years of public high school. The data were collectively obtained in the classroom using the Social Skills Inventory for Adolescents, the Social Support Appraisal Scale and the Psychological Well-being Scale. The results indicated that family configuration is not associated with the psychological well-being of adolescents. The social skills of empathy, self-control, civility, social resourcefulness and affective approach as well as the social support appraisals from friends and family were the best predictors of adolescent psychological well-being. A partir da percepção de adolescentes, este estudo avaliou a influência da configuração familiar, habilidades sociais e percepção de apoio social como possíveis variáveis preditoras do seu bem-estar psicológico. Participaram 454 adolescentes, na faixa etária entre 13 e 17 anos, de famílias nucleares, monoparentais e recasadas que frequentavam o Ensino Médio. Os participantes responderam coletivamente, em sala de aula, ao Inventário de Habilidades Sociais para Adolescentes, à Escala de Percepção de Apoio Social e à Escala de Bem-estar Psicológico. Os resultados indicaram que a configuração familiar não está associada ao bem-estar psicológico dos adolescentes. As habilidades sociais de empatia, autocontrole, civilidade, desenvoltura social e abordagem afetiva e a percepção de apoio dos amigos e da família foram os melhores preditores do bemestar psicológico dos adolescentes. RESUMO:Este estudo investigou a violência intrafamiliar como fator de risco no desenvolvimento dos jovens, identificando os principais agressores e os tipos de violência. Participaram 658 jovens de 13 a 24 anos, de ambos os sexos, que cursavam entre a 7ª série do Ensino Fundamental e o 3º ano do Ensino Médio de 10 escolas públicas de Belém. As violências verbais e físicas foram as mais identificadas. Mãe e pai apareceram como principais perpetradores da violência física, madrastas e avós da violência psicológica e da categoria outros e o padrasto da violência sexual. Os resultados apontam para compreensão da dinâmica familiar e para a proposição de políticas públicas de proteção às famílias.Palavras-chave: adolescentes, jovens, violência na família, fatores de risco From Protection to Risk: Settings of Domestic Violence against Pará YoungstersABSTRACT: This study investigated domestic violence as a risk factor affecting the development of younsters, and aimed to identify the main perpetrators and the main types of violence. 658 youngsters of both sexes participated with ages between 12 and 24 years. They attended from 7th grade of junior high school to 3rd grade of high school in 10 different schools of Belém -Pará -Brazilian Amazon Region. Verbal abuse and physical violence were the most frequently types of violence. Parents were the main perpetrators of physical violence, stepmothers and grandmothers the main perpetrators of psychological abuse, while stepfathers and others were the main perpetrators of sexual violence. We concluded that understanding family dynamics is essential in proposing public policies to protect youngsters.

-revista debates em psiquiatria Resumo Objetivo: Analisar o impacto da espiritualidade e/ ou religiosidade no uso de substâncias psicoativas na população adolescente, tanto na proteção primária quanto na secundária. O uso, abuso ou dependência de substâncias abrange intervenções em diversas áreas: biológica, psíquica, social e espiritual.Método: Foi realizada busca de artigos publicados em bases de dados científicas entre 2000 e 2015, com as seguintes palavras-chave: adolescente, droga, abuso de substância, espiritualidade, proteção, religioso, religiosidade. Foram encontrados, no total, 115 artigos nas três bases de dados (PubMed, BIREME, SciELO), e levando-se em consideração os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados oito artigos.Resultados: Os estudos apontam na mesma direção, de que tanto espiritualidade quanto religiosidade são de grande importância para os adolescentes em relação ao uso, ao abuso e à dependência de substâncias psicoativas. Além desses fatores de proteção citados, também foram observados outros: família, amigos, grupo social, ambiente, resiliência, informação e perspectiva de futuro.Conclusão Abstract Objective:To analyze the impact of spirituality and/or religiousness on the use of psychoactive substances in the adolescent population in both primary and secondary protection. Substance use, abuse or dependence cover interventions in a variety of areas: biological, psychic, social, and spiritual.Methods: Articles published in scientific databases between 2000 and 2015 were searched using the following keywords: adolescent, drug, substance abuse, spirituality, religious protection, religiousness. A total of 115 articles were retrieved from three databases (PubMed, BIREME, SciELO), and eight were selected taking into consideration the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Results: The studies point in the same direction, in that both spirituality and religiousness are of great importance for adolescents in relation to psychoactive substance use, abuse, and dependence. In addition to the protective factors mentioned above, others were also observed: family, friends, social group, environment, resilience, information, and future perspectives.Conclusion: Spirituality signals a broad connection between the individual and their environment, aiming at the well-being and personal growth of both the person and their peers. The control of religion and/or the experience of spirituality act directly protecting the youth against involvement with substance use, as a result of its relation with self-regulation, psychological and social factors, availability of information on substance dependence and its consequences, and good family structure. In this scenario, the need to develop public policies with this approach is highlighted.
