A Structural Model of Employee Behavioral Dynamics in Enterprise Social Media

Abstract: We develop and estimate a dynamic structural framework to analyze social media content creation and consumption behavior by employees within an enterprise. We focus in particular on blogging behavior by employees. “…However, the result of this study confl icts with the hypothesis set by this study as it is rejected with the standardized estimate of -0.178 and the p-value of 0.122. The fi ndings show that knowledge sharing has an insignifi cant negative impact on employee high performance, which contradicts the past research (Sigalaa & Chalkiti, 2015;Huang, Singh, & Ghose, 2015;Mohamed et al, 2017). This research is done on call center agents in an IT based multinational in Malaysia, where the nature of work by the agents is more oriented towards attending calls and it takes time and effort for them to engage in knowledge sharing activities with other peers.…”

“…Social-related use refers to the extent to which employees use ESM to establish and maintain relationships with others (i.e., setting up a social event or making friends within the organization) [20]. Employees' social-related activities have positive spillovers for work-related use [21]. A few studies have recently explored the relationship between ESM use and outcomes.…”
