A Single-chip GSM Vocoder

Abstract

A single-chip implementation of t h e GSM full-rate vocoder is presented.Maximum integration has been achieved through t h e use of DSP CORE technology. The impact of this technology on t h e design methodology and testability will b e described. This component is one of t h e key building blocks of t h e ALCATEL GSM handportable station.
