A QoS-based approach for cloud-service matchmaking, selection and composition using the Semantic Web

Abstract: Purpose Cloud computing provides a dynamic, heterogeneous and elastic environment by offering accessible ‘cloud services’ to end-users. The tasks involved in making cloud services available, such as matchmaking, selection and composition, are essential and closely related to each other. Integration of these tasks is critical for optimal composition and performance of the cloud service platform. More efficient solutions could be developed by considering cloud service tasks collectively, but the research and aca… Show more

“…Cloud Service operationally defined as a set of services that provide network access everywhere, adequate, and on-demand to computing resources. Whereas the measurement of variables are internet accessibility, computer self-efficacy, cost and energy efficiency, quality assurance, and enhanced user satisfaction (Modi & Garg, 2019;Mohamed & Pillutla, 2014;Prasad et al, 2018;Qadri & Quadri, 2018;Wang et al,2017). Readiness to changes operationally defined as an individual's beliefs, attitudes, and intentions in implementing and managing existing changes.…”

“…Moreover, cloud service is built from a collection of computers, which are interconnected and virtualized, so that they can provide a set of services that are determined through a Service Level Agreement (SLA). The Cloud Service can provide customers with demand-based computing and storage resources from a remote data center as a utility (Modi & Garg, 2019). Therefore, it can be concluded that cloud service is a set of services that provides network access everywhere, adequate, and on-demand to computing resources that can be configured and available through the technologybased Internet so that it can provide computing service from a remote data center as a utility.…”

“…The search engine leveraged an agent-based paradigm to build a test bed for service management. Furthermore, in light of de-Information Technology and Control 2020/1/49 6 veloping cloud search engine architectures, a model using semantic Web and quality of service (QoS) was presented in [20]. It matches and composes cloud services for realizing customers' requirements.…”
