A Data‐Driven Framework for Smart Urban Domestic Wastewater: A Sustainability Perspective

Abstract: With the continuous advancement of urbanization, the problem of urban domestic wastewater has become increasingly serious. Furthermore, information and communication technologies (ICTs) have flourished, providing smart ideas for the governance of urban problems, including smart urban domestic wastewater (SUDW), to improve efficiency and deliver smart cities. The framework of smart governance is vital for urban planning and development, but existing frameworks lack systematic characteristics. Therefore, this st… Show more

“…There are several reviews that focus on an aspect of smart water. This includes reviews of cyber-physical water networks (Adedeji and Hamam, 2020), cyber-security and water (Tuptuk et al, 2021), urban hydroinformatics (Makropoulos and Savić, 2019), domestic wastewater (Du., et al, 2019), smart metering (Cominola et al, 2015), water security (Su et al, 2020), resilience to failure (Marchese et al, 2020), and sustainability (Wang., et al, 2015). To evaluate municipal smart water and its contributions to climate adaptation and mitigation, we conduct a systematic review of the recent academic literature.…”
