A comparative study of serum lipids and lipoprotein- A levels of women with pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) and normotensive pregnant women

Abstract: Hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy is the one of the most common medical problem of pregnancy. Worldwide, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy causes complication in about 10-16% of pregnancies. High blood pressure in pregnant women is related with incidence of large placental infarct and decreased placental growth resulting in intra uterine fetal growth restriction and intrauterine death. Hypertension in pregnancy is diagnosed when blood pressure is 140/90 mm of hg or greater with proteinuria and ed… Show more

“…Blocking β -receptor can prolong the conduction time of myocardial bioelectric signals in this area, thus reduce the heart rate and myocardial oxygen consumption. It slows down the heart rate and lowers blood pressure at the same time [ 28 ]. The heart rate of patients will not decrease indefinitely after slowing down to a certain extent, and then tend to stabilize by themselves.…”

“…The main pregnancy outcomes in this study included: macrosomia, defined as a birth weight of more than 4000g ( 24 ); Large for gestational age (LGA) or small for gestational age(SGA), defined as a birth weight more than 90 th or less than 10 th percentile based on gender and gestational age ( 25 ); Preterm delivery, defined as gestational age at delivery<37 weeks but >28 weeks; Full term low birth weight, defined as a gestational age ≥ 37weeks with birth weight less than 2500g; hypertensive disorders of pregnancy(HDP), defined as blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg that occurred after 20 weeks gestation but without proteinuria ( 26 ). Other pregnancy outcomes were cesarean section and composite outcome.…”
