Introduction: Economic growth and the increase of credit power in Brazil, especially in the Northeast region, allow the population to increase the acquisition of vehicles, mostly motorcycles. On the other hand, while facilitated this sale, little is invested in traffic enforcement measures, in an alarming increase of traffic accidents associated with causes that could be avoided, resulting in several members and head traumas or can lead to death. Objective:To describe the profile of motorcycle accident victims who were admitted in the emergency room of a public hospital.Methods: This is a descriptive, retrospective, documentary and quantitative study carried out with 270 victims of brain trauma involved in motorcycle accidents admitted in a public hospital in Ceará, Brazil. Data collection happened between 2013 and 2014, analyzing medical records of patients and answering a basic form for data optimization.Results: Motorcycle accidents that occurred in the period [2013][2014] registered in the public hospital of the city of Cariri, Ceará, Brazil, affecting mostly males (88.1%) and a high number of young people and adults (55%). There has been a reduction of accidents from 2013 (65%) and 2014 (34.1%). There was a predominance of accidents over the weekend (41%), having as a contributing factor alcoholism (61%) and the non-use of a helmet (86%), providing the skull trauma injury as the most present (40.7%). Profile of Victims of Motorcycle Accidents Admitted in EmergencyRoom IntroductionAutomobile accidents, in particular those with motorcycles, constitute a serious public health issue, in particular by physical limitations arising in their survivors, influencing on social determinants of health, since these are social, economic, ethnic/racial, cultural, behavioral and psychological factors influencing the occurrence of health problems and their risk factors in the population.In the face of technological advances, increasing the purchasing power of the world's population and the accelerated process of urbanization, it has been observed in recent years, a great evolution in the number of people who own transport like cars or motorcycles, to perform their daily activities or as a working tool.On the other hand, especially in developing countries, a disorganized growth reflected by the poor organization of traffic and the excessive number of accidents, causes fatalities or serious sequelae, in most cases, to drivers of motorcycles. Introduction: Urban transit accident are a global public health problem. The objective of this study was to describe the profile of the victims and the occurrences of urban transit accidents attended to by emergency mobile care services (Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência-SAMU) in Recife, and their distribution based on spatial analysis. Methodology: An ecological study, developed through secondary data from emergency mobile care services in Recife, referring to the total number of occurrences of urban transit accidents attended to from January 1 to June 30, 2015. The spatial analysis was performed using the Moran index. Results: Basic support units performed most of the emergency services (89.2%). Among the victims, there was a predominance of males (76.8%) and an age group of 20 -29 years old (31.5%). Collisions were responsible for 59.9% of the transit accidents, and motorcycles for 61.6% of the accidents among all means of transportation. Friday was the day that showed the highest risk for treatment, and there was a concentration of events between 6:00 am -8:59am and 6:00pm -8:59pm. The MoranMap identified critical areas where calls came from traffic accidents during the period analyzed. Discussion: The records of the mobile service from the spatial analysis are an important source of information for health surveillance. Conclusion: The spatial analysis of urban transit accidents identified regions with a positive spatial correlation, providing subsidies to the logistical planning of emergency mobile care services. This study is groundbreaking in that it offers such information about the region.

Los peatones son los usuarios más vulnerables de vialidad, factores como edad y sexo son importantes. El objetivo de este artículo es conocer las desigualdades de mortalidad por atropellos en AT según edad y sexo en Ecuador. Como metodología se realizó un estudio observacional y descriptivo, con datos tomados de la Agencia Nacional de Tránsito. Se calcula DF, TM, AVPP y RR. Como resultado se encontró lo siguiente: 41 27 siniestros, 3211 fallecidos por AT a nivel nacional, 19 % peatones, 74 % hombres (relación 3:1 respecto a mujeres); 41 % por conductor del vehículo no ceder paso a peatón y 59 % por imprudencias del peatón; diciembre (n = 54) y mayo (n = 44) 2017 fueron los meses con mayor mortalidad en área urbana. Ligera disminución de víctimas mortales (y = -0,909 - x = +42,03; R² = 0,282); TM de 35,3, hombres ≥ 80 años con tasas ajustadas más altas, ≥65 años mayor riesgo de fallecimiento, especialmente mujeres, 19.362 AVPP; niñas-mujeres hasta 14 años > IAVPP. Peatones ≥ 65 años usuarios más vulnerables y de mayor riesgo. En conclusión, las políticas públicas tomadas para reducir accidentabilidad y mortalidad en Ecuador proporcionan resultados de bajo impacto, esto lo confirma el 2° lugar que ocupa el Ecuador en el ranking de mortalidad por AT, de países latinoamericanos analizados en este estudio
