Abstract: O texto propõe a análise da estruturação da macrometrópole paulista e dos efeitos das desigualdades socioespaciais presentes em sua dinâmica urbano-regional. Essa região, definida pela Emplasa em 2012, reúne 174 municípios, que compreendem cinco regiões metropolitanas, duas aglomerações urbanas e uma microrregião.
