Photosynthesis is one of the physiological process that influence the bean weight and this process related with the efectiveness of the stomata character and chlorophyll content in the leaves. The research was conducted at Kaliwining Research Station, Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute. Design of experiment was randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisted of six clones as treatment were Sulawesi 1, Sulawesi 2, Sca 6, ICS 60, TSH 858, ICCRI 03, PA 300. Each treatment was replicated three times. Stomata resistance diffusion, tranpiration,the content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, chlorophyll total (a+b), bean number and bean weight were observed. The resuts of experiment showed that difference in chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, chlorophyll total (a+b), stomata resistance diffusion, bean number and bean weight existed within six clones tested. Transpiration rate did not show the significantly different between six clones tested. Sulawesi 1 showed the highest content of chlorophyll a and ICS 60 and ICCRI 03 showed higher content of chlorophyll b than the other clones. Chlorophyll a, b and total (a+b) showed positively influence on bean number and bean weight. Transpiration rate had negatively influence to bean number per pod, on the otherhand it showed positively influence to bean weight. Chlorophyll total (a+b) showed high genetic variance (σg2), high phenotypic variance (σf2) and high estimated value of heritability (H). The chlorophyll a,b had moderate genetic variance, moderate phenotypic variance and high of estimated value of heritability. Chlorophyll total (a+b) could be used a selection criteria based on the value of correlation, genetic variance, phenotypic variance and estimated value of heritability would give high opportunity in selection process.

A radiação luminosa pode ser considerada, dentre os fatores ambientais aos quais as plantas estão expostas, aquele que apresenta maior heterogeneidade espacial e temporal, impulsionando nas plantas alterações morfológicas e anatômicas que melhoram a captação e a utilização desse recurso. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo discutir, numa perspectiva funcional, as alterações estruturais e de plasticidade em folhas de duas espécies dominantes em floresta ombrófila mista, encontradas em distintos níveis de exposição à luz, em diferentes estágios de crescimento. Parâmetros morfológicos e anatômicos foram medidos em dez folhas de cada espécie, para cada estágio de crescimento, sendo utilizada A nova para comparação das médias. Plantas adultas mais expostas à radiação, quando comparadas com plântulas, apresentaram menor área foliar, maiores densidadesfoliar e estomática e de espessura do parênquima paliçádico. Algumas inversões observadas em indivíduos jovens e em fase de plântulas sugerem que há um maior investimento em crescimento do que em produção fotossintética. Os caracteres mais plásticos foram a área e o peso foliar e a densidade estomática. Os resultados indicam, para as duas espécies, variações morfoanatômicas e fisiológicas que podemmelhorar a captação de luz e maximizar o aproveitamento de tal recurso para o pleno desenvolvimento do vegetal.

RESUMO:Memora nodosa (Silva Manso) Miers, Bignoniaceae, é uma planta do Cerrado utilizada popularmente como cicatrizante de úlceras e feridas externas (folhas e caules). O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar morfologicamente essa espécie e fazer o estudo anatômico de suas folhas. O estudo morfológico foi realizado à vista desarmada e com o auxílio de microscópio estereoscópico. Para o estudo anatômico as folhas foram seccionadas e as lâminas histológicas confeccionadas de acordo com as técnicas convencionais. Memora nodosa é um arbusto com folhas opostas cruzadas, recompostas, bipinadas, imparipinadas, com foliólulos pequenos, lanceolados, verde-escuros e brilhantes. A inflorescência é racemosa com flores infundibuliformes e corola amarelo-ouro; glândulas nectaríferas são observadas no terço superior do cálice; androceu com quatro estames férteis, didínamos e um estaminódio reduzido; gineceu com estilete terminal, ovário súpero, assentado sobre um disco nectarífero. O fruto é do tipo cápsula septífraga achatada, com sementes aladas. Anatomicamente a lâmina do foliólulo é hipoestomática com estômatos predominantemente paracíticos. O parênquima paliçádico é pluriestratificado, ocupando cerca de dois terços do mesofilo dorsiventral. Memora nodosa (Silva Manso) Miers, Bignoniaceae, is a Brazilian Savannah plant, popularly used as external wound and ulcer healing (leaves and stems). The goal of this research was to perform the morphological study of M. nodosa species and the anatomical study of its leaves. The morphological study was done to the naked eye and with the aid of a stereoscopic microscope. For the anatomical study leaves were sectioned and histological slides made in accordance with conventional techniques. Memora nodosa is a shrub with decussate leaves recomposed, bipinnate, imparipinnate with small leaflets, lanceolate, dark green and shining. The inflorescence is racemose with infundibuliform flowers and gold yellow corolla; nectar glands are observed in the upper third calyx; androecium with four fertile stamens, didynamus and one staminode; gynoecium with terminal style, superior ovary, seated on a nectary disc. The fruit is flattened septifragal capsule with winged seeds. Anatomically, the blade leaflet is hypostomatic with predominantly paracytic stomata. The palisade parenchyma is pluriseriate, occupying about two thirds of the dorsiventral mesophyll. Glandular and non-glandular trichomes are observed in greater numbers in the young leaves.
