Pesquisa Mundial de Saúde: aspectos metodológicos e articulação com a Organização Mundial da Saúde

Abstract: No ano 2000, o Relatório da Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) foi dedicado à proposição de uma metodologia para a avaliação de desempenho dos sistemas de saúde dos países membros. O Relatório 2000 trouxe à agenda da OMS o comprometimento com os objetivos louváveis de avaliação dos sistemas de saúde, monitoramento das desigualdades em saúde e alcance da equidade no financiamento da saúde. “…However, after adjusted analysis, this was not reflected in the quality of cervical cancer screening in the primary health care network, in contrast to findings from population-based studies, such as the World Health Survey (WHS), carried out in Brazil, in 2003. That study included users of the SUS and the private sector, showing a marked social gradient in the coverage of the Pap smear and a lower percentage of examination carried out more than 36 months before, as the population size of the municipalities decreased 22 , 23 . In the crude analysis, our finding was similar to that of the WHS; however, when controlling for the socioeconomic differences between the sizes of municipalities, there was a reversal of the pattern, indicating greater difficulty of large municipalities in ensuring the provision of quality services.…”
