Dentistry is a profession that has shown considerable growth in the last few years, as far as qualitative aspects and scientific production are concerned, and also in the number of undergraduate courses. Objective: to describe the profile of dentistry courses through official data and unofficial data, such as the existence of student support programs, gender disparities and availability of study places. Material and Methods: to this end, a survey of the 565 Dentistry courses registered by the Ministry of Education was carried out by three trained researchers and then of their respective websites and public domain information, followed by data analysis (R 4.1.2 R Core Team software, Vienna) and georeferencing (Qgis and ArcGis software). Results: as for the profile of the institutions that offer the course, 89.4% are private and as for the unofficial data, 63% of the sites do not have information regarding the teaching staff, 44.2% of the courses present a woman as coordinator and more than half report having at least one type of student support activity. It was possible to observe that the greatest availability of Dentistry vacancies is offered by private institutions and in courses coordinated by men. Conclusion: considering the information available on the college websites, it is important to keep them up to date and complete, so that students have access to the support activities that are relevant to their education.

Purpose This paper aims to assist higher education institutions (HEIs) in their decision-making process to define initiatives and foster research projects contributing to sustainable development (SD) and minimizing the deficits found in the municipalities. Design/methodology/approach A documental analysis was performed to select HEIs and Brazilian regional development indicators. Then, the assessment of the sustainable and institutional performance of Brazilian municipalities that have HEIs consisted of three parts: clustering with an unsupervised machine learning model, ranking with a hybrid multi-criteria decision making method and visualization of sustainability performance with the dashboard. Findings The critical analysis of institutional and sustainability indicators contributes to a more active role of HEIs in matters of social responsibility, with a more holistic view of the performance and quality of municipal education. Furthermore, this critical analysis creates a scenario where HEIs can develop public policy proposals in partnership with the government to mitigate the main issues identified. Social implications With this study, HEIs will be able to direct their actions to minimize the deficits found in the municipalities, consolidating their social responsibility. Originality/value This study proposes a new decision-support tool with a dashboard of indicators so that HEIs can foster research projects with a focus on regional SD.

Elements of Interprofessional Education in the Curriculum of Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Health: A Documentary Study

Objective: to examine the interprofessional education elements present in the integrated curricula of the Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Health in the cities from inland Rio Grande do Norte. Method: a documentary research study based on the analysis of three Pedagogical Course Projects with a quantitative approach. The data were extracted with the aid of an adapted instrument, processed in the Iramuteq software, presented in charts and in a dendrogram and analyzed by thematic categories and interpretively. Results: the text corpus was built from the organization of all the information through the adapted instrument and subsequently analyzed in Iramuteq through Descending Hierarchical Classification. The emergence of two main classes was identified: Class 3, which was subdivided into classes 1 and 2; and Class 4. From the keywords found in the dendrogram corresponding to each Class and their statistical similarity, it was possible to organize the classes into analysis categories, as follows: Class 3 - Interprofessional Education: Actors, contexts and strategies; and Class 4 - Methodological and evaluative strategies for building interprofessional competencies and skills. Through the Pedagogical Course Projects, a training process that values the development of competencies for teamwork, interprofessional and comprehensive care is indicated, based on the guiding principles of interprofessional education. Conclusion: there is an effort by the pedagogical projects to point to an integrated curriculum based on Interprofessional Education since, in their theoretical framework, they contribute fundamental principles for developing the teaching-learning process.
