Considering the scarce information on nutrient extraction by plants for seed production within vegetable crops, as well as the effect of fertilization over extraction, studying nutrient accumulation in different plant parts under varied fertilization rates is necessary. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of phosphate rates on macronutrient accumulation in cauliflower plants during seed production. Five phosphate rates were studied (0, 300, 600, 900 and 1200 kg/ha P 2 O 5 ), in a randomized complete block design, with four replications. Accumulation of nutrients in the different plant parts was evaluated at the end of the cycle (vegetative and reproductive, the latter divided in seeds and inflorescence). Data were submitted to analysis of variance and regression. Considering only the seeds, a quadratic effect was obtained for the accumulation of all macronutrients, with maximum estimated for rates between 858 and 952 kg/ha P 2 O 5 . Considering the whole plant (total accumulation), a linear increase for P, Ca and S was obtained the higher the P 2 O 5 rates, while the effect was quadratic for N, K and Mg accumulation. The total nutrient accumulation descending order was: K>N>Ca>S>P>Mg, and considering only the seeds was: N>S>K>P>Ca>Mg, S being highlighted as the second most accumulated nutrient in the seeds.

ABSTRACT:The integration of fish farming in intensive system and plant production, called "aquaponics" is practiced successfully in countries like the USA, Australia and Europe. In Brazil, this integration has attracted the attention of researchers and producers. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two substrates (crushed stone number 3, CS III and flexible polyurethane foam, FPF) on the production of aquaponic lettuce, moreover, to show that the residual water from intensive tilapia production provides sufficient qualitative characteristics for competitive production of lettuce without adding commercial fertilizers. The treatment in which FPF was used provided higher concentrations of macro and micronutrients in the shoots, higher production of fresh matter of shoots (95.48 g plant -1 ) and a larger number of leaves (14.90) relative to CS III. These results were attributed to the lower post-transplanting stress and the higher water retention time provided by the FPF. The residual water from tilapia intensive farming can provide sufficient nutrients for the production of lettuce, making the supplementary fertilization with commercial products unnecessary. Thus, the FPF presents the most suitable conditions to be used as substrate in aquaponics system with recirculation of the residual water from the intensive tilapia farming. No Brasil, essa integração vem atraindo a atenção de pesquisadores e produtores. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de dois substratos (pedra brita número 3, PB3 e espuma flexível de poliuretano, EFP) sobre a produção de alface aquapônica, além disso, demonstrar que a água residuária proveniente da produção intensiva de tilápia proporciona características qualitativas suficientes para produção competitiva de alface sem adição de fertilizantes comerciais. O tratamento onde foi utilizada EFP proporcionou maiores concentrações de macro e micronutrientes na parte aérea das plantas, maior produção de massa fresca da parte aérea (95,48 g planta -1 ) e maior número de folhas (14,90) em relação à PB3. Esses resultados foram atribuídos ao menor estresse pós-transplantio e ao maior tempo de retenção de água proporcionado pela EFP. A água residuária proveniente da criação intensiva de tilápia pode fornecer nutrientes suficientes para produção de alface, não sendo necessário complementação da fertilização com produtos comerciais. Assim, a EFP apresenta condições mais adequadas para ser utilizada como substrato, em sistema aquapônico, com recirculação de água residuária proveniente da criação intensiva de tilápia. ResumoAs hortaliças folhosas são consideradas exigentes em nutrientes, mas são escassos na literatura trabalhos sobre adubação fosfatada. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito da adubação fosfatada na produção de alface crespa, nos teores e quantidades acumuladas de P na parte aérea das plantas e relacionar teores de P em solo de textura argilosa com a produção das plantas. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, em vasos, em delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com dez tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os tratamentos constituíram-se de doses de P, correspondentes a 0; 50; 100; 150; 200; 300; 400; 500; 600 e 700 mg dm -3 , como superfosfato triplo, em pó. Porções de 6 dm 3 de solo de textura argilosa (420 g kg -1 de argila) receberam calcário dolomítico, visando elevar o V % do solo a 70 % ; o equivalente a 20 t ha -1 de esterco de bovino e o adubo fosfatado de acordo com os tratamentos, permaneceram incubando por aproximadamente 30 dias. Ao final da incubação, cada vaso recebeu uma muda de alface crespa cultivar Verônica. A colheita das plantas foi realizada 39 dias após o transplantio das mudas. O P proporcionou grande aumento no crescimento e na produção de alface crespa, e a cultura respondeu positivamente à aplicação de altas doses do nutriente. A dose de 350 mg dm -3 , equivalente, a 800 kg ha -1 de P 2 O 5 , foi a mais adequada para o cultivo de alface crespa em solo de textura argilosa. Nas condições estudadas, a adubação fosfatada em alface crespa foi necessária quando os teores de P-Mehlich em solo de textura argilosa forem menores do que 75 mg dm -3 . This study aimed to evaluate the effect of phosphate on the production of lettuce, content and amount of P accumulated in leaf plants, and to relate levels of P in the clayey soil with plant production. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse in pots in a randomized block design with ten treatments and four replications. The treatments were made up of P, corresponding to 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700 mg dm -3 , as triple superphosphate powder. Portions of 6 dm 3 of the clay soil (420 g kg -1 clay) received lime, aimed at raising the V % soil to 70 %, equivalent to 20 t ha -1 of cattle manure, and the phosphate fertilizer according to the treatments, remaining incubated for about 30 days. At the end of incubation, each pot received a change of lettuce cultivar Verônica. The plant harvesting was performed 39 days after transplanting the seedlings.
