Sistema "safra-adubo verde" - soja/milheto/ milho/guandu/arroz/crotalária/soja; III. Sistema "safra-safrinha" - soja/ave… Show more

“…The authors also verified that vinasse application (150 m 3 ha -1 ) reduced castor bean emergence; however, there was no damage subsequent to seedling development that occurred from the presence of this residue. This positive interference of vinasse over the Iris and IAC-2028 genotypes, mainly related to plant vigor, was also reported by Ramos et al (2008 In Botucatu county, São Paulo State, a reduction of 87.6% in weed populations and 60% in weed biomass with the production system 'season -off season' with castor bean cultivated after rice, was observed when compared to 'season-fallow' cultivation (CASTRO et al, 2011). This may indicate that crop succession and rotation may contribute to weed management for castor bean crops.…”

“…In the fallow system in this study, the lack of a cover crop left the soil uncovered, favoring local weed emergence and development due to the high incidence of light (Lima, Timossi, Almeida, & Silva, 2014). According to Castro, Cruciol, Negrisola, and Perim (2011), cover species can control approximately 54.9 to 97.7% of weeds control; efficient control occurs when the cover crop produces up to 6 t ha -1 of straw (Lima et al, 2014). The crop residues in the triticale treatment (Table 9) resulted in a floristic composition of ten weed species in seven families in 2013, but in 2014, only five species distributed in three families were sampled.…”
