Identificação de componentes de óleos voláteis: Análise espectroscópica de misturas de sesquiterpenos

Abstract: Recebido em 31/10/97; aceito em 12/5/98 IDENTIFICATION OF COMPONENTS FROM VOLATILE OILS: SPECTROSCOPICAL ANALY-SIS OF SESQUITERPENES MIXTURES. This paper describes a chromatographic method to fractionate volatile oils and to identify their sesquiterpenic constituents. The fractionation process includes flash chromatography over silica gel and chromatography over silica gel/AgNO 3 , utilising pentane, CH 2 Cl 2 and/or acetone as eluents. GC chromatograms were obtained in order to get the relative percentage of … Show more

“…The hexane extract of the leaves of P. macrocarpa was submitted to chromatographic separations to give two sesquiterpenes: spathulenol (7) and macrocarp-11(15)-en-8-ol (10), one diterpene: phytol (11) and two steroids: sistosta-5,25-dien-3β-ol (12) and sitosta-5,22,25-trien-3β-ol (13). The sesquiterpene 7, the diterpene 11 and the steroids 12 and 13 were identified by analysis of their 1 H and 13 C NMR data and comparison with data described in the literature.…”

“…12 The sesquiterpenes 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 and the diterpene 11 were characterized as the 5,[13][14][15] . Additionally, the crude volatile oil was submitted to analysis by GC/MS.…”

“…Part of this material (100.0 mg) was submitted to flash chromatography on silica gel eluted with CH 2 Cl 2 (100 mL) and gradient of CH 2 Cl 2 -MeOH 95:5 (50 mL) and 9:1 (50 mL) to afford eight fractions (15 mL each) which were analyzed with gas chromatography. 20 Fraction 1 (10.2 mg), eluted with CH 2 Cl 2 , was subjected to analysis with GC/MS to allowed the identification of β-elemene, α-ylangene, α-guaiene and β-selinene. GC chromatograms of fractions 2-4 showed to be composed by complex mixtures of sesquiterpenes.…”

“…1 This species has a very diversified chemical composition, revealed by isolation of acetogenins, lignanamides, hydroxycinnamoyltyramines, sesquiterpenes and alkaloids, including azapolycyclics, from different parts, previously investigated, of the same specimen. [2][3][4][5][6] This paper describes the isolation and identification of three steroid mixtures and two flavonoid glycosides from the ethanol extract of the branches of Porcelia macrocarpa.…”
