A a… Show more

“…Moreover, the application of IBA improved adventitious rooting. A number of studies have shown increased adventitious rooting with IBA, such as in Bixa orellana (MANTOVANI et al, 2010), Syzygium jambos (MARTINS; ANTUNES, 2000), Vitis rotundifoliae (PACHECO et al, 1998) and Prunus persica SILVEIRA, 2003). Our data also showed that IBA (3.0 or 8 g .…”

“…The lychee tree can be propagated in several ways, being layering the most appropriate (CASTRO and SILVEIRA, 2003). The layering technique is also known as air layering and consists in inducing rooting of the branch, yet tied to the mother plants by means of a complete girdling with the removal of the cortex, followed by the involvement of the girdled region with moistened substrate (BITENCOURT et al, 2007).…”

“…According to Castro and Silveira (2003), the propagation by layering has advantages over other methods, such as the high percentage of rooting, independence of infrastructure and shorter juvenility, besides the homogeneity of the seedlings and the possibility of choice of plants with higher fruit production.…”
