Fenologia e frutificação do pessegueiro 'Granada' sob diferentes práticas de manejo

Abstract: Phenology and fruit set of peach cv. 'Granada' under different orchard managementsPeach cv. Granada produces for dual purpose: fruits are firm and have good size and appearance. However, this cultivar has been showing low yields, especially when temperatures are above 25 °C during the dormancy period and flowering time. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate different management practices on the phenology and fruiting of this cultivar. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with four replications… Show more

“…The highest fruit weight was found in short pruning in the cases of both rootstocks under investigation. The positive effect of short pruning may be due to decrease in the number of buds on twigs, a fact that leads to lower competition for carbohydrates among remaining buds (Locatelli et al, 2012). Fruit with high weight in peach trees submitted to short pruning were also reported by (Kumar et al, 2010) and (Gonçalves et al, 2014).…”

“…'Charme' achieved the lowest FS in both years (7.27% in 2014 and 12.83% in 2015) due to low RRF, thus demonstrating the increased sensitivity of the cultivar to the local environment. Locatelli, Nava, Citadin, and Pichler (2012) reported that the low fruit set index and subsequent fruit yield of 'Granada' was due to the sensitivity of this cultivar to high temperatures during the flowering period and onset of the fruit set. The FS in 2015 was much greater than in 2014 due to a greater homogeneity of chill during the winter period and mild temperatures from the onset of fall; this was also found by Scariotto et al (2013).…”

“…The artificial breaking of dormancy, alone or combined with short pruning, increases the percentage of flowering, effective fructification and plant yields of the Granada cultivar [21].…”
